Sophie never ceases to amaze me. She’s a mom of two boys, a wife, a wellness advocate and an entrepreneur - but above all else, she is someone who oozes confidence and kindness. Sophie has been in the wellness space for years and shares her recipes, lifestyle tips and workouts. She also is the co-founder and Creative Director of One Wednesday, a home goods brand with modern yet simple essentials. A collection of high quality and attainable products helps elevate your everyday life.

The sole reason I got into real estate is to help people live well. So, I naturally gravitated towards Sophie with her underlying mission to help others feel their best.

Sophie invited us in to her home, a renovated Vancouver Special, to toast the holidays and see what she’s serving, how she’s decorating and what she’s wrapping up this season.

Your house is a Vancouver Special. What makes it "special" to you?
Hands down. The people I share it with.

Did you know it was the one right away?
No , not really! I really trusted my husband with this one, he thought it had a good layout and lot and I went with it!

You mentioned that you gutted the entire interior. How did you survive the renovations?
Wine & lengthy conversations. If I did the reno now, my answer would probably be "meditation and workouts"

You designed your home with the help of Gillian Segal. What was your inspiration behind the new look?
We loved working with Gillian to create a "farmhouse in the city". You can see more of the step by step process at #vancityfarmhouse on Instagram, if you’d like.

What's your favourite room in the house and why?
The living room because it's where we drink our coffee with our boys with a fire lit every morning.

You co-own a successful brand, One Wednesday, that designs simple, modern home goods to support and elevate everyday life. What was your impetus to start the business?
My co-founder and I were new moms and we found that we had dozens of blankets all serving singular purposes so we decided to design the Universal Throw to be everything from a baby blanket to breastfeeding cover to scarf to throw and it blossomed from there! We now have products in four categories including Throws, Bath, Apparel and Kids with plans to launch two more lines next year!

What's your favourite One Wednesday item that makes the perfect holiday gift?
The Seasonal Stripe Universal Throw is consistently our best seller and is so versatile so everyone loves it.

You're an entrepreneur, home owner, partner and mom of two. What's your secret to balancing it all?
An incredible amount of support at home, amazing family & friends, and my commitment to filling up my cup first.

You're also a wellness advocate, which I love about you. From workouts to lifestyle advice, recipes and more, what is your biggest tip to living life well?
Do what makes you feel your best and be your own advocate.

What can we expect to see on your table this holiday season?
My husband makes an epic Prime Rib on Christmas eve with homemade biscuits. I'll do a big winter salad, a "winter spritz" and wine, of course!

What does "home" mean to you?
Above all else, home is my family.
