The Stable Residence

I believe in simplicity and material honesty. I'm not interested in unnecessary adornment or communicating luxury through opulence. This boils down to interiors, art, products, and installations that are essentialist yet humanistic. - Alyssa Lewis for Sömn Home

Alyssa Lewis is the visionary behind the multi-disciplinary creative space, Studio Block and her home, The Stable Residence. An interior designer by trade, she feels that every space should evoke an emotional response.

I’m not sure how I personally found The Stable Residence or how it found me but one thing for sure is that it’s a simple, unpretentious space full of inspiration and intention. I was fortunate to shoot my first round of content at Alyssa’s home - a beautiful heritage townhouse nestled in between South Granville and Fairview Slopes. From the street, the house looks just like the next in a lovely row of character homes. But, as you step inside you immediately feel the immense serenity of the space.

With a minimalist eye, the interior is designed to be artful yet functional. When not offering it up to brands such as Vitruvi, Sömn Home and Jenni Kayne this is Alyssa’s place to unwind and catch her breath. “Creating a home or a fixed space to call my own has meant everything to me, and has given me the opportunity to grow in new ways. I believe that home is your canvas to create the life you want to live.”
